I was recently appointed to the National Organic Standards Board (NOSB). The NOSB is a federal advisory board under the USDA's Agricultural Marketing Service and makes recommendations on a variety of issues involving the production, handling, and processing of organic products. Each of the 15 NOSB members are appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture for a five-year term. With 16 years of certified organic farming experience, a passion for maintaining and improving the natural environment, and a commitment to growing and providing healthy, nutritious foods for my community, I am looking forward to serving on the NOSB board and the larger organic farming community.
FarmHer Liz & Crew are taking a few weeks off. We're tackling projects and transplanting our first spring crops. We'll be back open in March for online ordering and you can also find us every Saturday at the Columbia Farmers Market!
