I was looking through pictures on the website this morning and came across my friend Chris Blanchard's Purple Pitchfork logo. That brought up all kinds of memories of friends that have left us too soon, of all the farmers out there growing food to feed their communities, of the crazy weather catastrophes happening all over the country right now devastating those farms, of the good the bad & the ugly times that we go through every year to grow that food, of the amazing resiliency that I know we farmers all possess, of the knowledge & love for growing things passed down over the generations of farmers feeding our country.
Sooo many memories & thoughts this Friday morning as I make my long list to get ready for the day in preparation for heading to the Columbia Farmers Market tomorrow morning. Hoping that my community shows up to buy my hard worked for veggies & flowers so that I can pay my bills & my employees and continue farming for another day, week, month, and year.
Here's to all you farmers out there that are feeding your friends, families & communities... "Keep those tractors running!"
