This past week brought the first real heat of of summer as well as our big summer planting push. It's always a challenge when those two things coincide but our crew this year took the bull by the horns and ran with it!
Lots of peppers, lettuce, our second round of summer squash & zucchini, cucumbers & flowers got transplanted. As well as many projects were accomplished. A big one was installing shade cloth on all four of our big high tunnels. This shade material helps keep the heat down inside the tunnels which is important for flowering/fruiting veggies like tomatoes & peppers.
FarmHer Liz & Crew are taking a few weeks off. We're tackling projects and transplanting our first spring crops. We'll be back open in March for online ordering and you can also find us every Saturday at the Columbia Farmers Market!
